What supplies do I need when traveling

About

I'm excited to share with you what I bring when I travel in terms of supplies. Traveling with your watercolor gear can be both fun and challenging, but with the right items, you can capture the beauty of any destination. Here's a peek into my travel essentials: *1. Compact Watercolor Set:* I always bring a portable watercolor set. My go-to is a small, travel-friendly palette that includes a range of colors. It’s lightweight and easy to pack, ensuring I have all the colors I need without taking up too much space. *2. Water Brushes:* Water brushes are a game-changer for painting on the go. They eliminate the need for a separate water container, reducing the mess and making it easier to paint anywhere. I usually bring a few in different sizes for varying brush strokes. *3. Sketchbook:* A high-quality, travel-sized watercolor sketchbook is essential. I prefer one with thick, textured paper that can handle multiple layers of paint. It’s the perfect way to document my journey with quick sketches and detailed paintings. *4. Waterproof Pen:* For adding fine details and outlines, a waterproof pen is a must. I like using a black fine-tip pen that won't bleed when I apply watercolor over it. *5. Portable Water Container:* Even though water brushes are handy, I still carry a collapsible water container for rinsing brushes and mixing colors. It’s compact and convenient, fitting easily into my bag. *6. Paper Towels or Tissues:* Accidents happen, and having a few paper towels or tissues on hand is great for blotting and correcting mistakes. They’re also useful for creating different textures in your paintings. *7. Pencil and Eraser:* Before I start painting, I often sketch out my composition lightly with a pencil. A good quality eraser helps in making corrections without damaging the paper. *8. Travel Case:* All these supplies go into a sturdy, waterproof travel case. It keeps everything organized and protected, ensuring my tools are in top shape no matter where I go.
